“In this project I used a set of lamps I inherited from my grandparents and designed new glass lampshades for them. In the design I wanted to take inspiration from the traditional technique of stained glass while updating the work by creating a new process. Instead of soldering individual pieces of glass togethers, I connected the metal and the glass by blowing hot glass into laser-cut metal frames. Here I mixed the old and the new, tradition and innovation, grandparent to grandchild, linking the generations.”
